CHAG
HA CUKKAH
(FEAST OF TABERNACLES)
After the Yowm ha Kippur comes the Chag ha Cukkah (Feast of Tabernacles), also called the Chag ha 'Aciyph (Feast of Ingathering). This is the time when Satan has been put away, YAHUSHA is Melek ha MelekYAH (King of Kings), and the chaciyd (saints) of YAHUAH will teach all humanity the derek ha YAHUAH (ways of YAHUAH) which will give them the full opportunity to serve and obey the Creator without Satan's deceptions.
In the cepher (book) of Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:34, YAHUAH commanded this festival to our ancient ancestors, Yashar'YAH: "Speak unto the ben ha Yashar'YAH (children of Israel), saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month [shall be] the chag ha cukkah (feast of tabernacles) [for] seven days unto YAHUAH." So the Feast of Tabernacles was to last seven days. It is called the chag ha cukkah or "booths"- to remind the covenant people Yashar'YAH (Israel) that they were "sojourners" in the land. It also reminds us, the descendants of ancient Yashar'YAH, that we are- as our ancient father 'Abraham- "strangers and pilgrims in this land looking forward to our return to the promised land Kna'an (Canaan)" Ibrim (Hebrews) 11:13-15 and Debarim (Deuteronoomy) 8: 1-2.
In the cepher (book) of Shemoth (Exodus) 23, we find an autumn chagag (festival) described as "the Chag ha 'Aciyph (Feast of Ingathering), at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field" (vs. 16). So, it also pictures and celebrates the great fall harvest- the great spiritual harvest of souls to be reaped during the one thousand year reign of MashaYAH.
YeshaYAHU
(Isaiah) proclaimed at that time "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of
YAHUAH, as the waters cover the sea." "They shall not hurt nor destroy
in all my qodesh
har (holy
mountain). . ."
(11:9).
There will be an outpouring of
shalom ve
simchah (peace and
joy) such as the world has never experienced. In YeshaYAHU (Isaiah)
35:9-10, the kathab
qara (Scripture
proclaims), "No lion shall be there, nor [any] ravenous beast shall go up
thereon, it shall not be found there; but the
ga'al (redeemed)
shall walk [there]:
And the padah
(ransomed) of YAHUAH shall return, and come to Tsiyowm (Zion) with
songs and everlasting simchah (joy) upon their heads: they shall obtain
simchah (joy and gladness), and
yagown (sorrow) and
'anachah
(sighing) shall flee away."
In the cepher (book) of Acts 3:21, Kepha (Peter) called this period the "time of restoration of all things which YAHUAH has spoken by the mouth of all YAH qadosh nabiy (holy prophets) since the world began." They do speak of the time of MashaYAH'S return, of all the world coming to understand, and of shalom ve simchah (peace and joy) permeating the earth because humanity will be learning YAHUAH'S towrah (law) and a new way of life.
"Now it shall hayah (come to pass) in the latter days, [that] the har (mountain) of YAHUAH'S house shall be kuwn (established) in the top of the har, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Yalak (Come) ye, and let us go up to the har ha YAHUAH (mountain of YAHUAH), to the bayith (house) of the YAHUAH of Ya'aqob (Jacob); and He will teach us of His derek (ways), and we will yalak in His paths: for out of Tsiyown shall go forth the towrah (law), and the word of YAHUAH from Yruwshalaim (Jerusalem). He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." YeshaYAHU (Isaiah) 2:2-4.
According to YeshaYAHU (Isaiah) 61:4,7, the Scripture teaches us that when we (the descendants of ancient Yisraelites) return from their end- time captivity: We shall rebuild the old ruins, we shall raise up the former desolations, and we shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. . .For our shame we shall have double honor; for our confusion we shall rejoice in our portion (territory, land, possession). Therefore in the land, we shall possess double; 'owlam simchah (everlasting joy) shall be ours."
YiremeYAHU (Jeremiah) 31: 31-33 proclaim the time of MashaYAH'S reign: "Behold, the days come, saith YAHUAH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Yashar'YAH, and with the bayith ha Yhuwdah (house of Judah): Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim (Egypt); which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith YAHUAH: But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Yashar'YAH; After those days, saith YAHUAH, I will put my towrah (law) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their YAHUAH, and they shall be my people."
YAHUAH'S towrah (law) has never been done away with, but has been magnified by YAHUSHA HA MASHAYAH and made even more binding, so that we are to keep not only its letter but also its spiritual intent. So, we do not merely refrain from murder, we refrain from enmity and hate and the attitude of murder, MattithYAHU (Matthew) 5:21-22. We are taught not only to forsake adultery, but not even to "look on" a woman to lust after her (verses 27-28)!
During this time, YAHUAH's towrah are to be written in the hearts and minds of His people all over the earth. For YAHUAH'S towrah (laws) express His very character that we develop in order to be kings and priests forever in His kingdom! This blessing will be afforded to all mankind during the "Feast of Ingathering," the 1,000- year reign of MashaYAH here on this earth. Revelation 20 tells us: "Barak ve qadash (Blessed and set apart) [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be kahan (priests) of YAHUAH and of MashaYAH, and shall reign with him a thousand years" (verse 6).
So, we should be preparing now to learn and keep YAHUAH towrah (laws) and His ways so that we will be able to teach these things to others. For it is written in I Corinthians 6: 2-3: "Do you not know that the chaciyd (saints) will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge malak (angels)? How much more, things that pertain to this life?"
Will just Yashar'YAH (Israelites) observe the Chag ha Cukkah (Feast of Tabernacles)? Notice ZekarYAHU (Zechariah) 14: 1-4 " Behold, the day of YAHUAH cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Yruwshalaim to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall YAHUAH go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Yruwshalaim on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the har shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." Then read verse 9, "And YAHUAH shall be melek (king) over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YAHUAH, and his name one." And read verses 16-19, "And it shall be that whoso will not come up all the families of the earth into Yruwshalaim (Jerusalem) to worship the Melek (King), YAHUAH ha tsaba (hosts), even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Mitsrayim (Egypt) go not up, and come not, that have no rain, there shall be the plague, wherewith YAHUAH will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Mitsrayim, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the Chag ha Cukkah (Feast of Tabernacles)."
Let it be understood that there will come a time when all nations will learn to keep the Chag ha Cukkah (Feast of Tabernacles), and all of YAHUAH'S set-a-part feast days.
